Say Hello to The Paper Life Shop!

After months of hard work, The Paper Life Shop is now open for business!  If you are a DIY type, like mixed media art, scrapbooking, crafts, or party projects then you'll want to head over to ThePaperLife.com  and see all the goodies!  I am proud, honored, and excited that Amy Coon, creator of The Paper Life, asked me to take part in bringing her ideas to life.  Below are just small previews of the first 3 collections that have been released at the new digitally based store.  To see everything head over to thepaperlife.com

10 Reasons To Paint Your Old Fridge With Chalkboard Paint

My 1980's beige fridge has been converted into a nostalgia inducing chalkboard surface.  Magic?  Nope, just a can of Rustoleium chalkboard paint from Home Depot, some latex primer I already had around the house, and a paint roller.  I simply removed the old worn-out handles and filled in the holes with wood putty.  I applied 1 coat of primer and 3 coats of chalkboard paint.  (Would probably been fine with just 2 coats of chalkboard paint.)  So would I recommend this craft project to a friend?  Heck yea and here's why:

1.  It costs less than $20.00.

2.  You can take silly pictures of your pets in front of it.

3.  You can write grocery lists on it.

4.  You can write silly notes to your family.

5.  You can write bossy notes to your family.

6.  You can erase evidence of a note written to your family if you think better of it.

7.  If you don't' feel like writing on it you can wipe it down with a wet rag and it just looks like a black fridge.

8.  You can make your fridge look different every single day.

9.  It can entertain your children (or spouse) while cooking dinner.

10. It's easy to do and lots of fun to have!

A Loving Heart...

is the beginning of all knowledge.  To be completely honest with you, if I had read this quote a year ago I probably would have rolled my eyes.   So if you are rolling your eyes at this quote right now I completely understand.  I am cynical in nature, opinionated, and according to my sister I have a "holier than thou" attitude at times.

Nevertheless, I've gone through a huge transition in the last year and a half.  I am happily married with 3 beautiful puppy dogs, no longer stuck in a job I despise, and I am able to practice my art every single day.  So when I read this quote just a few days ago these are the thoughts came to mind:  the love and support of my husband, the humor and smiles provided by my silly dogs, slowing down long enough to notice all the small things, and how big the world seemed when I was a child.

Vegas Wedding

Congrats to Scott and Susanna on their Vegas Wedding!  Again, so sad I wasn't there to celebrate, but they had some beautiful photographs to share.  This digital scrapbook page was made from one of those photos.

Classic Rock Posters

Between re-modeling the house and work projects, I haven't had a chance to post anything for nearly two weeks.  I've been very busy working with Amy Coon over at the Paper Life ... but all of that is top secret until July!    My friends over at La Jolla Booking and Super Sonic Events have also kept me busy the last couple of weeks with some promotional poster projects.  Hmmm... makes me want to go see some live music!
